An emulsion's always
a chemist's wonder
But when there's a mixture
of paint, oil and water
You get something
which brings laughter!

Ready, Aim, Fire!
Attack, Defend, or Surrender!
It certainly was a pleasure...
to be a paintball player!
Covered in paint, sweat and slime
Crouching in mud, dirt, and grime...
With testosterone and adrenaline pumpin' all over
This is a Manly game, for sure!

Bangkok Blast!
On the 12th of July
MH 3575 took to the sky
and there we were
at the capital of Thai!
Sights, sounds, and senses
With SALES at all places
Read on and and you'll find
why Bangkok is a cool place to unwind
A shopping haven
A girl's seventh heaven
All for a fraction of the usual price
And everything in which you look nice!
Shirts, shorts and slippers
dainty satin dresses
cute earrings with elegant necklaces
scrunchies for long tresses
all that was left
was a hole in the purses
So the saying "Live to Eat"
which I think we really did
For the food was really great
to which we ate, ate and ate!
Pork knuckles with noodles
McD pork burgers
Bits of pork on skewers
Huge oysters on ice
Mango with glutinuous rice
Everything was yummy and nice
that you wished for more
crossing your fingers, toes and eyes!
To the floating market
a trip was made
To see how on water
the peddlars trade
Down the winding canals did we go
Row, row, row!
And my, was I surprised to discover
that traffic jams well do occur on water!
The Grand Palace, the Great Temple
was all what we had left to uncover
the Buddhism-transpired architecture
Made me wish we could stay longer
Like a breeze the days flew by
with MH3574 in the sky
It had to be 'Bangkok, Goodbye!'

A Hundred and One
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn
Hundreds of bees in the lilac clover
But there can only be one true lover...
and that is for yourself to discover

of Foodies and Friends
Stuck with portfolios of not two, but three
Was rather stressed out as I could be
Not to mention increasingly moody
To a jap food feast I was given the opportunity
an invitation which I accepted with glee
Food was tasty and yummy
what more the great company
I am thankful to be so lucky!
I'll admit to being greedy...
devouring all that sashimi!
with a dash of shoyu + wasabi
hmmmmm....... wheeeee!!!
There was chawan mushi
and sushi with ebi
and loads of unagi
and soft shell crab temaki
and ice cream - green tea!
Oh dear, i wonder
how long will this list be?!
...teeheehee ;p
*Burp* Oops, I almost forgot
all the edamame
Aahh... as you can see
a good mood definitely
comes along when
audrey's tummy achieves Satiety
A final note from yours truly...

Q... & A Session
Given I was a question
To which I had to reason
"Provide an explanation
for this blog's conception"
This is thus my answer
with hope that it will clear
up any pending presumption
These blank pages
provide a way
For what my mind
has to say
Be it for memory recollection
or to vent out a day's frustration
What is written may be fact or fiction
for every interpretation
do use your imagination!
A Pensieve
That's what
this blog is
I do hope these posts of poetry
have at least some ability
to satisfy your reading satiety
If you were to take the opportunity
to immerse yourself
in my world of lunacy
I really wish that hopefully
you wouldn't turn out to be
as nutty as yours truly!

a child's cry
"A tale of mine
I'd like to tell
of how my life turned from bliss to hell
In the midst of Phnom Penh
we lived happily
All nine of us, a blissful family
When
Into the city the Khmer Rouge conquered
and
To the outskirts we were relocated
From our homes we were stripped bare
To out horror the sufferings did not end there
From the moment we were evacuated
my entire family were separated
Where my family members went I did not know
to a children's camp I was forced to go
Working in the rice fields
From daylight to moonlight
the only comfort I had
was a younger sister by my side
Watery porridge twice a day was all I had
To a famished nine-year old I was barely fed
Frogs, spiders, crickets, beetles
What I caught; what I ate
Disgusting as it seemed
those sustained my life to this date
My wee sister, at an age so young and tender
creepies and crawlies; she was unable to capture
She begged and plead a bite from me
but in such adversity; I had to be stingy
It was often that I ate in secrecy
Yes, I knew that was mean of me
but I barely had enough to survive,
How was I to sustain another life?
Day by day she became thinner
Till starvation got the better of her
We were in line receiving dinner
when suddenly she fell
and dropped the precious bowl of rice water
Frantically, she stooped and scooped
but tell me, how do you gather
with bare hands, a bowl of water?
Helpless, she began to wail
but that was to no avail
for no matter how we begged
A second helping we did not get
Ravenous, helpless
I coaxed my sister
summoning all my energy
I carried her to bed,
with hope that tomorrow would be better
That night she did not sleep
but rambled on in incessant chatter
of our siblings, father and mother
of how life used to be better
of how did she often wonder
when she would see them in the future
When dawn broke
I gently shook her
but her little figure
remained still
her expression tranquil
I called out again to her
whispered in her ear
to get her awake i was eager
for the fear, of the soldiers
who would not hesitate
to whip those who lazed in bed
yet motionless she laid
upon our rattan bed
a soldier came up
and told me not to bother
for my sister would be sleeping forever
Young as I was
It was not till years later
that I understood
that to see again I would never
my little sister
the war has long passed
but scars still linger
my eyes still water
whenever my mind would wander
off to the memory of my dear little sister"

Tongue Tied
Here's a French tongue twister
For you to ponder
At a glance
It looks pretty easy
Read on
It's not as simple as it seems to be!
"Les amis de mes amis sont aussi mes amis"
"Les ennemis de mes ennemis sont aussi mes amis"
Should sound:
[Leyzamie de meyzamie sontaussi meyzami]
[Leyzennemis de mezennemis sontaussi meyzami]
Read it French style, which is much quicker
You'll wonder that your tongue feels shorter!

Zen
A phrase recently heard
which surely many have too
Though simple words of zen-ism
the wisdom within is rather true!
"Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
but today is a gift.
That's why we call it the present"
[Ancient Master Oogway, 2008]

A Tall Tale
All 'bout Cambodia I've recently been writing,
There's more to go; but I'd figured that'd be boring
Gotten this poem in a mail today,
A nonsense verse; but surely would brighten up your day!
One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back-to-back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
One was blind and the other couldn't see,
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And rushed to save the two dead boys.
A paralyzed donkey walking by,
Kicked the copper in the eye,
Sent him through a rubber wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all.
(If you don't believe this lie is true,
Ask the blind man -- he saw it too!)

Reflections
Over the murky waters
of the Tonle Sap rivers
I cruised beneath
the scorching heat
I heard
a little girl's cries
I searched
nothing was before my eyes
Then she appeared
in rags of red
A tattered cap
over her head
In a tin bucket
cross-legged she sat
An oar in her hand
was all she had
Her desire was
simple and clear
All she wanted
was just a dollar
From my purse
I answered her plea
To her outstreched hands
that accepted with glee
With a flick of her oar
just as she appeared from no where
She vanished into the horizon
and disappeared into thin air
I truly admire
the courage of
the little child peddlar
or rather
the red brave warrior
of Tonle Sap river
Though how choppy and filthy
If you are reading this on your screen
take a sec to reflect
how fortunate in life you have been
for what are our complaints and worries
to those whose life since birth
are burdened with miseries...

Whisperings
Up the steps of Wat Angkor
she will go
With swirling thoughts
that none but one knows
Into the cracks of the ancient walls
that is where she'll whisper them all
And fill them up with sand
For as the wind blows
her secrets will be
Brought to faraway land
The larger bits that remain
will stay embedded
Never to be brought up ever again

the(e) Plea
Dear Pharmacy Division
kindly please
Consider my application
Long have I awaited
your decision
with great Frustration
I need an answer
for I fear
the deadline is near
Sigh...Why?
is there such difficulty
for a master's degree...
kindly please

Scrubbed Silly
What's just 'round the corner?
Of course it's Chinese New Year!
And what is there to do?
Shopping, and SPRING CLEANING,
just to name a few!
Dirty work had to be done,
so that was priority number one...
In the wee hours of dawn,
still stiffling a yawn everyone got out of bed,
all ready for the day ahead
On and on we persevered
till every corner was conquered,
cobwebs were dusted
grease and grime were busted,
Gone were loads of rubbish
floor was given new coat of polish
Rest was never in the plan
till everything was spick and span,
Never was there any complaints
of muscle aches and pains
A day's of hard work
eventually came to an end
much to the delight
of the entire clan
I can't say that
everywhere was sparkling clean
But to those involved in combat
definitely that was what it seemed!
Tough as the effort may have been
but the reward
was what none could easily redeem!
Dear all, here's a little greeting...
happy cleaning and enjoy celebrating!

Weasel Woes
From Hanoi
I was given a gift,
A parcel which I'd never expect to receive...
'What is it?' aloud I wondered
'Open it' I was instructed
'It's coffee!'
Obviously, but of FINE quality!'
'Tell me the reason why?'
'Later, after you have a try!'
And so did I, with a sigh...
'Ever heard of the weasel;
- the crafty creature?'
'Yes, always;
- in kiddie literature'
'He goes from tree to tree,
selecting coffee beans of best quality,
but as smart as he can be,
never chews the seeds ever does he...'
'You and I both know,
the fate of any seed; if swallowed whole,
Physiology of the GI tract, dictates that...
What's not digested, comes out from the back!'
What I've ingested has been revealed,
And no, there wasn't a need for Lomotil!'
To my coffee-mate
I thank you once again
For the gift, and experience I've gained!

Loo Laws...
When in the loo
with nothing better to do
besides focusing on pee and poo
do remember, the LAWS OF THE LOO...
Here's how it goes
this useful bit of prose...
When you sit upon THE seat
complete your business then retreat
If you find that you must read
please do so with utmost speed
Even when you're in a rush
remember it's always nice to flush
Each urgent knock on the door
means HURRY UP! with your simple chore
Yes, you've got a lot to do
but remember, everyone does too!

Hear! Hear!
Have you ever listened
to the
chatter of birds on a bright fine day
sounds of a waterfall gushing away
buzzing of bees in the month of May
rustle of leaves when breezes sway
or what someone truly has to say...
Words delicately chosen
Masked facial expression
Often are not
One's true reflection
So
Give someone that extra attention
And sincerely listen
You will find
that each conversation
exists for a certain reason

Of Wrong Footing...
It
swept me
off my feet
Leaving me
badly bruised
and feeling meek
Should I
have another
Such downfall
Unsure that
emotions will
Still stand tall
swept me
off my feet
Leaving me
badly bruised
and feeling meek
Should I
have another
Such downfall
Unsure that
emotions will
Still stand tall
To remember you by...
Words cannot say,
feelings to convey,
Essential point is,
will miss you HEAPSsss!!!

A Start
The first ‘entry’
or ‘post’ if I may,
Will always have
a lot to say.
A blog’s always created
for a certain reason,
For this it is,
to ease ISO-suffocation!
Was stuck in the halls of BPFK
for not one, but three days!
To learn ‘bout audits
it’s processes, and it’s ways.
Eyelids were drooping
head was nodding,
Really needed a distraction
thus this blog’s creation!
